Mr. Takehiro Kamigama
Director
Executive Vice President
General Manager
Data Storage & Thin Film Technology Components Business Group

I'm Takehiro Kamigama, general manager in charge of TDK's head business. I would like to report on this group's sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2005 and then the outlook for fiscal 2005.

Net sales in the first quarter were ¥52.2 billion. As a result, we have revised our previous forecast for the first half from ¥101.1 billion to ¥102.2 billion. There is no change to our previous forecast for the second half of ¥119.0 billion. Consequently, we are now forecasting net sales for fiscal 2005 of ¥221.2 billion, up from our previous projection of ¥220.1 billion.

Next let's look at HDD head demand and TDK's market share. Previously, we projected a market share in fiscal 2005 of 30%. There is no change to this forecast.

Finally, I would like to look at the timetable for launching new products for 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch HDDs.

With regard to the qualification status of 120GB/P products with 3.5-inch platter capacity, the earliest we expect to start mass production is around October this year. 160GB/P products with 3.5-inch platter capacity should be launched in either January or February next year, but could be slightly delayed.

Turning to 2.5-inch models, we have just started mass production of 50GB/P products. Qualification of 60GB/P products has been delayed slightly, but we expect to launch these heads in January next year.

This concludes my presentation. Thank you.
