Passive Components
TDK’s passive components have their roots in the magnetic material ferrite originally invented in 1930 and certified as an IEEE Milestone in 2009. Ever since its beginnings, the company has consistently blazed a path of innovation, making
products smaller, lighter and thinner and integrating them into modules, thereby contribution to the progress of electronic devices such as smartphones, PCs, and automobiles.
Today TDK offers a wide range of passive components
including ceramic, aluminum electrolytic and film capacitors, as well as inductive devices, high-frequency components, and piezoelectric material products and circuit protection components. They are marketed under the product brands
TDK and EPCOS.
Sensor Application Products
TDK offers highly functional, high value-added sensors and sensor solutions with an abundant line up of sensors, including temperature and pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors. These sensors are essential for delivering multifunction capability
in electronic devices, improving the functionality of car electronics, and driving progress in category automation and office automation.
Furthermore, TDK sensors provide added value to ICT equipment. They are marketed under the
product brands TDK, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Chirp, and Tronics.
Magnetic Application Products
TDK has spent more than 80 years refining magnetic material technologies. TDK’s high-performance magnetic heads and HDD suspension assemblies have continuously supported increases in HDD recording capacity for many years and are today used in cloud servers. TDK also offers ferrite magnets, neodymium magnets, and rare earth free magnets, which contribute to energy and resource conservation and higher efficiency in the automobile sectors as well as infrastructure and industrial equipment.
Energy Application Products
TDK offers a wide range of lithium-ion batteries, mainly used in ICT market applications. TDK’s power supplies are mainly designed for industrial applications and include AC-DC switching power supplies, programmable power supplies, DC-DC converters, and power supplies for charging storage batteries. Automotive power supplies for xEV are also available. TDK’s energy application products are marketed under the product brands ATL, TDK and TDK-Lambda.
