Special Cooperation from TDK for the Live-Action Film Adaptation of 'Look Back' by Tatsuki Fujimoto

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has provided special support for the live-action film adaptation of Look Back, the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man. The film was shot primarily in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture, and captures the city’s seasonal landscapes across spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Look Back is a story of growth and loss centered on two girls who devote themselves wholeheartedly to drawing manga and share irreplaceable time together. The film follows Fujino, who is confident in her manga talent, and Kyomoto, who admires Fujino while possessing exceptional artistic ability, as their shared passion for manga brings them together.
Through this special support, TDK hopes the film’s release will further deepen audience awareness and understanding of both TDK and Nikaho City in Akita Prefecture, particularly among younger generations.

About director Hirokazu Kore-eda
Born in Tokyo in 1962, Hirokazu Kore-eda is a film director, screenwriter, editor, and producer. After graduating from Waseda University, he worked on documentaries at TV MAN UNION, INC. before making his directorial debut in 1995 with Maborosi. His work has received numerous international accolades, including the Cannes Jury Prize for Like Father, Like Son (2013) and the Palme d’Or for Shoplifters (2018). Renowned for his calm yet incisive portrayals of family relationships and social issues, Kore-eda has also directed international productions such as The Truth and Broker. He leads the creator collective BUNBUKU and is committed to supporting and nurturing emerging filmmakers.
