The shooting took place in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture.

Along with the city’s beautiful scenery throughout the changing seasons, the film also features real-life locations, such as a station and a bookstore.

Special Exhibition at TDK Museum
From August 18 to December 31, 2026, a special exhibition of 'Look Back' is being held at the TDK Museum in Nikaho City, with the cooperation of the film production company K2 Pictures.

The view of Mount Chokai from Kisakata Coast is a breathtaking view where the blue of the sea, the vast sky, and the majestic mountains come together in one spectacular view.
Bunrindo Bookstore, which served as the model for the bookstore featured in the live-action film 'Look Back'. It is said that Tatsuki Fujimoto also visited from a young age, and his autograph is displayed inside the store.
Located in the Kamioguni district of Nikaho City, Osawa Shrine also appears in the live-action film 'Look Back'.
The "TDK Museum" offers a chance to learn about TDK's manufacturing history and experience the latest technologies through videos and demos.
At the "TDK Guest House" adjacent to the TDK Museum, you can enjoy dishes made with Akita ingredients including Yuri beef, along with views of the Sea of Japan.
Seishi Park, a place of relaxation for citizens. The grounds, which offer a distant view of Mount Chokai, are known as one of the top cherry blossom spots in Akita Prefecture.
At the foot of Mount Chokai, in the forest of Shishigahana Wetland, stands the giant beech tree 'Agariko Daioh,' estimated to be 300 years old.
Kujukushima, a rare landscape with over 100 islands scattered among rice paddies, has been designated as a national natural monument. Basho Matsuo also visited on his trip to the ‘Oku no Hosomich’ (Narrow Road to the Far North).
The TDK Akita General Sports Center is located on a vast site overlooking Mount Chokai, featuring a baseball field and gymnasium. Around the neighboring Takeshima Lagoon, you can enjoy beautiful rows of cherry blossom trees.
The 'Mototaki Underground Water' springs from the rocky surface after years of rain and snow falling on Mount Chokai. You are soothed by the moss-covered green rocks and the beauty of the waterfall resembling white threads.
