TDK has been selected as a constituent of three ESG investment indices provided by FTSE Russell

  • TDK was selected for the FTSE4Good Index Series and FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index for the tenth consecutive year.
  • TDK maintained a strong FTSE Russell ESG Rating of 4.8 out of 5, reflecting the comprehensive evaluation of its sustainability initiatives and disclosures across environmental, social and governance areas.
  • TDK is currently included in five ESG investment indices adopted by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund, reinforcing its continued commitment to sustainability and addressing social issues through its business activities.

TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) announced that it has been selected for the tenth consecutive year for the “FTSE4Good Index Series” and the “FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index,” and for the fifth consecutive year for the “FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.” All three are exemplary ESG investment indices provided by FTSE Russell, a global index provider.

The FTSE Russell ESG Ratingevaluates companies’ initiatives to address potential environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks based on the business characteristics of the companies assessed.TDK’s sustainability initiatives and related disclosures were comprehensively evaluated across all areas, and TDK maintained a score of 4.8 out of 5, following last year’s result.

These indices are widely used as benchmarks for sustainable investment by institutional investors, including Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF). Currently, TDK is included in the following five ESG investment indices for Japanese equities adopted by GPIF, including the two indices mentioned above:

  • FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index
  • FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
  • MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index
  • S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
  • Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index
