- TDK recognized as a leader in the CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment 2025 for the sixth consecutive year
- Recognition reflects strong collaboration with suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain
TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has been recognized as a leader, receiving an A ranking, in global environmental non-profit CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment 2025. This marks the sixth consecutive year that TDK has been selected as a “Supplier Engagement Leader.”
The Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates companies that respond to the CDP Climate Change questionnaire (full version). Companies are assessed and scored across five key areas: governance, target setting, Scope 3 emissions management, risk management processes, and supplier engagement. Companies that achieve the highest scores are recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders.
TDK has established the TDK Environmental Charter, consisting of the “Basic Principle on the Environment” and the “Basic Policy on the Environment,” which serves as the foundation for the Group’s environmental activities. Based on this Charter, TDK has formulated its Environmental Vision and Environmental Action Plan to promote environmental initiatives across the entire Group. Under its procurement principle of “Global Partnership Purchasing,” TDK promotes environmental initiatives throughout its supply chain. These efforts include the creation of “TDK Green Procurement Standard”, supplier environmental surveys, feedback on environmental performance, dialogue with supplier environmental representatives, and support for suppliers’ energy-efficiency improvements. To help further enhance resilience, including climate change measures through collaboration with its suppliers, TDK has participated in the CDP Supply Chain Program since 2023.
TDK aims to achieve a net zero CO₂ emissions by 2050, and its greenhouse gas reduction targets through fiscal 2030 have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). TDK will continue to work with suppliers and stakeholders to reduce environmental impacts across the entire value chain and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
