TDK presents a prize money of USD 100,000 to A. Duplantis (Sweden) for the world record of Pole Vault at the 18th World Athletics Championships Oregon22

TDK Corporation (TSE:6762), as an official World Athletics Partner, presents a prize money of USD 100,000 under the "New World Record Award" program to Armand Duplantis, Sweden who won the gold medal setting a new world record of Pole Vault at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 which took place in the United States for the first time. In the awarding ceremony that took place after the competition on July 24 (Sunday), Duplantis was presented with a replica check for USD 100,000 with TDK’s company name printed from World Athletics President (hereinafter the “WA”), Sebastian Coe.
TDK whose corporate motto is "Contribute to culture and industry through creativity" identifies with WA whose principle is "Contribute to society through expansion and development of the sport of athletics." TDK has been sponsoring the World Athletics Championships since the first championship games in Helsinki in 1983 as the official sponsor. Since 1997, TDK has held the right to sponsor a program named "New World Record Award" under which TDK offers a prize money of USD 100,000 for each new world record established in men's competition. TDK has given the New World Record Award 7 times in the past. The 8th award was won by Armand Duplantis, Sweden in the World Athletics Championships Oregon22.
TDK has supported the World Championships ever since the first event in Helsinki. TDK wishes to support those athletes who continue the endless challenge of breaking records and to back young athletes who endeavor to attract the future.
