General Manager
Data Storage & Thin Film Technology Components Business Group

I'm Takehiro Kamigama, general manager in charge of TDK's head business. I would like to report briefly on this group's sales for the interim period and the outlook for fiscal 2005.

Net sales in the first half were ¥103.3 billion, compared with the previous forecast of ¥102.2 billion. For the second half, we are projecting net sales of ¥119.0 billion, the same as previously forecast. We are thus projecting net sales of ¥222.3 billion for the full year, which compares with our previous forecast of ¥221.2 billion.

Next, I'd like to look at TDK's HDD head market share. Previously, we projected a share of 30% for fiscal 2005. We have now raised this projection by 1 percentage point to 31% because two of our customers have significantly increased their shares of the HDD market.

Finally, I would like to look at the timetable for new products. 120GB/P products with 3.5-inch platter capacity will be launched about one month later than previously estimated. But mass production will start almost as expected. The launch of 160GB/P products will be much later than projected, probably by about three months. The launch is expected to be April next year at the earliest.

Turning to 2.5-inch models, mass production of 50GB/P products has started. TMR heads for 60GB/P products are now being qualified and we think mass production will start early next year.

This concludes my presentation. Thank you.
