TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announced that it will sponsor the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 (WCH Tokyo 25) as an official partner. The World Athletics Championships will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21, 2025.
TDK has supported the championships since the first event was held in Helsinki, Finland in 1983. These championships, which will be the 20th since its inception, will be held for the first time in Tokyo in 34 years since the 3rd championships in 1991. TDK supports the World Athletics Championships on account of the athletes who have overcome difficulties and challenging circumstances with courage, aligning with its own stance as a company that continues to take on challenges to help realize a better future through technology.
Around 2,000 top athletes from more than 200 countries and regions will compete in 49 events during WCH Tokyo 25 – totaling more athletes and events than the track & field program at the Olympics. The World Athletics Championships meets the significance of the Olympics for track and field athletes and has been the venue of many world-record-setting performances and classic winning moments. TDK will bring excitement to the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 by supporting the athletes from around the world who continue to transform themselves through rigorous training, as well as all who are involved.
TDK will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2025 alongside the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25. TDK has produced numerous technologies and products over the years through dedication and repeated trial and error, similar to an athlete's attitude, pursuing a path they believe in and transforming themselves by attempting to push their abilities to the limit. Children today who represent the next generation may very much desire to become athletes who compete at the World Athletics Championships. In doing so, they will take their first steps with courage and passion to become who they want to be. TDK hopes to support the transformation necessary for these types of future leaders to achieve their dreams through a range of initiatives with a new theme of transformation that starts from the passion within for athletes and the children of the future. The theme and statement are as follows.
TDK's theme for the World Athletics Championships:
Transformation starts from the passion within
TDK's statement expressing our thoughts about the World Athletics Championships:
Change begins from the desire within.
To transform things.
Turn ideas into innovation.
Technological breakthroughs into better products.
Small steps into giant leaps.
This passion within
becomes the power to keep moving forward.
The courage to overcome any challenges.
The inspiration to pursue your vision.
Stronger, higher, farther.
One step at a time, every step of the way.
Toward a better you.
Changing the world, changing the future,
it all starts from within.
