- Booth outline
On the main stage, highlights of this year's exhibits centered around magnetic technologies will be introduced, followed by presentations in which engineers explain some major products.

  • Energy-related market zone
The zone dedicated to the “Energy-related” market comprises an Automotive Corner and a Smart Grid Corner. A full scale car model lets visitors see how TDK products and technologies are incorporated, and electronic components for power conditioners and other products are also on display.
In the Automotive Corner, visitors will have a chance to see DC-DC converter for automotive that deliver twice the output power per volume unit compared to existing models, reaching a world-leading 2 watts per cubic centimeter. A wireless electric vehicle charging system with a receiving coil reduced to the size of an A4 notebook will also be shown. In the Smart Grid Corner, insulated type bidirectional DC-DC converters allowing high-efficiency, seamless switching between step-up and step-down operation are on display.
  • Next-generation Information and Communications market zone
The zone for the “Next-generation Information and Communications” market is divided into a Data Centers Corner and a Smartphones Corner. Cutting-edge solutions for the next-generation information and communications sector will be introduced in various demonstrations.
The Data Centers Corner presents HDD heads for thermal-assisted magnetic recording, a technology that enables higher data storage capacities for handling the explosive increase in the volume of information driven by the progress of cloud computing. Exhibits in the Smartphones Corner include miniaturized thin-film passive components and a wireless power charging coil unit compliant with the “Qi” standard, featuring a world-leading thin profile while being highly shock resistant and flexible.
