Celebrating Pride Month at TDK
As part of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) efforts and inclusive leadership practices, TDK is supporting Pride Month – a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride.
During pride month, celebrated in June, we will display a pride-themed TDK logo on our social media channels. This action is preceded by other acts of advocacy – an LGBTQ+ workshop attended by over ninety leaders in Tokyo and active support of the Tokyo Rainbow Pride in April.
Apart from activities on our Social Media channels, we have taken steps to structurally support the LGBTQ+ community via our DE&I team and increasing awareness within TDK as stated in below message of Andreas Keller – Chief People and Sustainability Officer, TDK Corporation:
“LGBTQ+ is an umbrella term for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and people of other gender identities and sexual orientations. We believe that it is our responsibility to create an environment where all team members, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, are fully engaged to contribute to the best of their abilities and feel safe and secure being their true selves while doing so.
Consistent with TDK’s definition of Equity, understanding and acknowledging the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and ultimately identifying/eliminating behavioural and structural barriers that have prevented the full participation of this group is essential to TDK’s sustainability.”

About the DE&I Team at TDK:
Acting in accordance with our guiding corporate principles of Vision, Courage, and Trust, TDK began its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) journey in Japan in 2020. The journey expanded globally with the establishment of the Global DE&I team in April 2023. Our approach is to: increase Awareness, Action, and Accountability for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ultimately increase the sense of Belonging amongst all our Team Members.
