TDK to Remain an Official Partner of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics for Another 10 Years From 2010

August 31, 2007

TDK Corporation has signed a basic agreement to remain an Official Partner of the International Association of Athletics Federations
(IAAF; President Lamine Diack) and of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics. With the renewal of this agreement, TDK will sponsor the 13th edition of the event in Daegu, South Korea in 2011 through the 17th edition in 2019. Under the 10-year agreement from 2010 to 2019, TDK will support the IAAF World Championship in Athletics as sponsor of all the men's number bibs.

TDK is proud to have been an Official Partner of this global sports event since the first edition was held in Helsinki, Finland, in 1983. Today's announcement will extend TDK's support of the IAAF World Championship in Athletics to an unbroken 34 years. TDK's corporate philosophy-"Contribute to culture and industry through creativity"-is in line with the IAAF's objective of contributing to society through expansion and development of the sport of athletics. TDK will continue to cooperate in making the IAAF World Championships in Athletics a success going forward.

TDK is also engaged in social contribution activities related to the IAAF World Championships in Athletics. TDK runs a program whereby world-class athletes provide coaching directly to young track and field athletes. As around the Helsinki championships in 2005, TDK also held a training program at this year's event in Osaka. Besides extending its contract as an Official Partner of the IAAF World Championship in Athletics, TDK plans to continue this training program to give back to society.
