TDK to Create Integrated Multilayer Inductor Manufacturing System

TDK Corporation (“the Company”) has announced that it has decided to close the Yuzawa Plant of wholly owned multilayer inductor manufacturing subsidiary TDK Ugo Corporation at the end of March 2012 and integrate and consolidate operations in the subsidiary’s Ouchi Plant. The Yuzawa Plant and the Ouchi Plant are located in Yuzawa City and Yurihonjo City, respectively, in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Details are as follows.
- Objective
In order to prevail in the global market place today, TDK must respond to changes in the structure of economies, a tumultuous business environment worldwide and other factors as well as strengthen manufacturing capabilities. To this end, TDK plans to build a more efficient business management system by integrating and restructuring its dispersed multilayer inductor production bases. - Business Site Integration Plan

After the integration, TDK Ugo will have three plants: Ouchi Plant, Konoura Plant (in Nikaho City, Akita Prefecture), and Iwaki Plant (in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture). - Personnel
