TDK Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, will unveil a brand-new (giant) billboard at Munich Airport on October 1, its first ever corporate billboard in Germany as a global electronic component maker. The new billboard will be located prominently at the boarding gate of Terminal 2. The Munich initiative follows the high-tech renewal of the LED billboard in London's Piccadilly Circus, completed in August 2010.
By placing the new billboard in Germany, TDK aims to strengthen its [outdoor] advertising in Europe and further enhance its reputation as a leading global manufacturer of electronic materials and components as part of TDK's overall global brand strategy.
The billboard at Munich Airport will feature two messages which were created for this occasion; "Powered by Creativity" shows TDK's consistent focus on creativity and "TDK. The electronic components company." indicates the company positioning. The billboard is designed to portray the value of creativity, the core source of TDK's high technology and strong competing power. The man shown on the billboard presents a successful business person who continues to stretch the boundaries with his creativity, surviving fierce competition.
TDK has the largest share of the global HDD magnetic head market and also is a leading global manufacturer of switching power supplies, ferrites, inductors and more. Through its global marketing projects, TDK hopes to increase awareness of its global marketing activities, and thereby develop and enhance its global image as a state-of-the-art electronic components manufacturer.
