The main types of passive components are inductors (L), capacitors (C), and resistors (R). Devices that use electricity definitely have circuits, and enhancing the performance of L,C,R components drives advances in many technologies, from appliances to industrial machinery.
A single smartphone has about 800 to 1,200 inductors and capacitors. Also, an electric vehicle uses hundreds of inductors and approximately 10,000 capacitors.
