The restaurant offers a delicious lunch menu making luxurious use of the fresh seasonal delights of Akita. Visitors can relax and enjoy a wonderful meal and splendid view of the Sea of Japan.

Yuri Beef Set

Set Menu
Choose either a plate of rice or two slices of bread. Served with soup and salad.
Yuri Beef from Akita Prefecture (shank or shoulder) is stewed slowly in red wine with savory herbs and beef sinew until tender enough to be picked apart with chopsticks. The sauce uses a dash of Akita miso to enhance the meat’s flavor. The potato gratin on the side is made with fresh cream for a creamy, rich flavor.

Yuri Beef from Akita Prefecture (boned rib) is simmered in a homemade sweetened sauce with onions, maitake mushrooms, burdock, and konyaku noodles, and served over rice. The natural sweetness of the marbled beef, together with the aroma of the simmered vegetables, will heighten the appetite.
Sprinkle on red ginger to your liking and enjoy. -

Set Menu
Choose either a plate of rice or two slices of bread. Served with soup and salad.A handmade hamburger patty that uses 75% Yuri Beef from Akita Prefecture and offers the rich flavor of wagyu beef. Served with grated daikon radish and a steak sauce made with soy sauce and lemon juice that goes well with rice. Served together with a potato gratin made with fresh cream for a creamy, rich flavor.

Soba with Hachimantai Pork Dipping Sauce

Served with one side dish, pickles, and a bowl of rice with furikake seasoning
The soba noodles are made from 100% buckwheat flour produced in Kamagatai, Nikaho City.
Added to the hot dipping sauce is Hachimantai pork (boned rib), maitake mushrooms, burdock, and Japanese leeks for flavorful, satisfying taste.
You can also squeeze in some sudachi for a citrus zest.

Soba with Hinai-Jidori Chicken Dipping Sauce plus Shrimp Tempura
(available for a limited time, Saturdays only)

Served with tempura dipping sauce, a bowl of rice, one side dish, and pickles
The soba noodles are made from 100% buckwheat flour produced in Kamagatai, Nikaho City. The highly aromatic buckwheat noodles go well with the hot dipping sauce enhanced by the umami of Hinai-jidori chicken.
Served with shrimp tempura on the side for a satisfying meal.

This mild curry uses less spice so that children can eat it, and is sweetened with onions and honey. Plus, the curry comes with a mini dessert.

A popular lunch plate for kids that features rice sprinkled with furikake seasoning, a mini hamburger, fried chicken, ketchup spaghetti, french fries, broccoli, and ketchup on the side. It also comes with a mini dessert.

With vanilla ice cream
A piece of cake to match the season, served with vanilla ice cream. To the side of the cake is whipped cream and fruit. You can choose your drink from the menu.
For those who order a lunch item, the cake set is 50 yen off, at 460 yen (tax included). -
Melon cream soda
420 yen(tax included)
Melon cream soda, an ice cream float made with melon soda, has been a popular treat in Japan for generations. This standard drink at traditional coffee shops is a favorite of children and adults alike.
350 yen (tax included) with purchase of a lunch item.
To group visitors

We accept reservations for lunch boxes.
Lunch boxes are available on days when the restaurant is open. Please make a reservation at least 3 days before your desired date. (Reservations are not accepted on weekends and holidays)

- *If you wish to make lunch reservations for a group, please consult with us beforehand.

After eating, enjoy an outdoor stroll around the grounds of the museum.
On a sunny day, you can see both Mount Chokai and the Oga Peninsula for a gorgeous panoramic view.
Using the Restaurant

The restaurant is located at TDK Guest House adjacent to the Museum. If you wish to eat lunch at the restaurant, please ask the Museum reception staff.
