TDK Guest House
The restaurant offers a delicious lunch menu making luxurious use of the fresh seasonal delights of Akita. Visitors can relax and enjoy a wonderful meal and splendid view of the Sea of Japan.

In line with the changes to our lunch reception hours and reception procedures from the end of April 2024, reception will now be carried out via tablet devices.
Reception had previously started at 11:00 a.m. during restaurant hours, but reception will now be possible from the time that the TDK Museum opens at 10:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
However, please note that we may not be able to seat visitors at their desired time. (You will be contacted by the restaurant as soon as we are ready to seat you.)
For reception, please come to the reception desk at the TDK Museum as usual.
During such periods as Golden Week and summer vacation when the museum has many visitors, seating conditions may differ from usual in the following respects. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause visitors to our restaurant, and we appreciate your understanding.
- Waiting times may be considerable when the restaurant is crowded.
- The order in which visitors are seated may change depending on which tables become available.
- The last order time may be earlier than scheduled.

Set Menu
Choose either a plate of rice or two slices of bread. Served with soup and salad.
Yuri Beef from Akita Prefecture (shank or shoulder) is stewed slowly in red wine with savory herbs and beef sinew until tender enough to be picked apart with chopsticks. The sauce uses a dash of Akita miso to enhance the meat’s flavor. The potato gratin on the side is made with fresh cream for a creamy, rich flavor.

A handmade hamburger patty that uses 75 Yuri Beef from Akita Prefecture and offers the rich flavor of wagyu beef Served with grated daikon radish and a steak sauce made with soy sauce and lemon juice that goes well with rice Served together with a potato gratin made with fresh cream for a creamy, rich flavor.

Salmon meunière and avocado coated in wasabi-ponzu, served over rice.

Mount Chokai Curry (Chicken Drumstick Curry with Fried Cod)

This original curry is blended with over 10 spices and features Uwaten the local cod fish sauce, as its secret ingredient The chicken drumstick which is stewed to be so tender that they fall apart with a spoon, combined with seared cheese make for a perfect match The many ingredients make for a satisfying dish.

Duck dipping sauce, small side dish, mini salmon rice bowl, and pickles
The noodles are made with 70% Shonai soba (buckwheat) for excellent flavor, firmness, and silky texture.
Dip the noodles in the warm dipping sauce flavored by a savory aigamo duck broth.
The satisfying set includes a small bowl of salmon rice.

A piece of cake to match the season, served with vanilla ice cream. To the side of the cake is whipped cream and fruit. You can choose your drink from the menu.

Melon cream soda, an ice cream float made with melon soda, has been a popular treat in Japan for generations. This standard drink at traditional coffee shops is a favorite of children and adults alike.

Lunch boxes are available on days when the restaurant is open. Please make a reservation at least 3 days before your desired date. (Reservations are not accepted on weekends and holidays)

The restaurant is located at TDK Guest House adjacent to the Museum. If you wish to eat lunch at the restaurant, please ask the Museum reception staff.
