There are two options to enter the world.

  • ・And then, follow the guidance and enter the world on the browser of your VR device.

2. Character settings

You can change your name and character. To keep the initial settings, please press "Accept" to move on.

*Please select your character and input your name.
  • ・Please use roman alphabets or numbers only (No space allowed).
  • ・Do not use any personally identifiable information.
    e.g.) Company or organization name, SNS account, full name, phone number.

3. Sound settings

Choose the microphone you will use in the world, check audio, or set on mute.
※If a pop-up message about the microphone appears in the top left of your screen, please allow access.

Terms of Use for the TDK Techno Experience
1.General Provisions
The TDK Techno Experience ("Services") is a platform with the purpose to introduce products of TDK Corporation ("TDK") and TDK affiliates, as well as a series of their business activities to customers in a virtual 3D space.
Customers can browse content, send and receive messages, and have voice conversations on the Services. These Terms of Use set forth the provisions for customers to use the Services. An agreement concluded between a customer and TDK regarding using the Services pursuant to these Terms of Use is referred to as an "Agreement" in these Terms of Use.
2.Definitions
The defined terms used in these Terms of Use have the below meanings:
  • (1)"Content" means characters, symbols, sentences, sounds, music, images, videos, software, programs, codes, and other information.
  • (2)"Accessible Content" means the Content a customer can access through the Services.
  • (3)"Message Function" means the communication of a message’s content (such as, a voice message or text message) between a customer using the Services and TDK or another customer using the Services.
  • (4)"Partner(s)" means an entity partnered with TDK, or an entity TDK contracts to perform work.
  • (5)"Intellectual Property Rights" means collectively the rights, including patent rights, utility model rights, design rights, trademark rights, copyrights, portrait rights, privacy rights, and publicity rights.
  • (6)"Users' Information" means all the below-listed information and the information related thereto, collectively or separately: information (model name, manufacturing number, and the like) about telecommunication devices and connected devices (terminals); use history of the Services (status of use for the Services, additional information acquired through using the Services, audio data, and the like); terminal location information; historical information (including browsing history and viewing history) acquired when a customer accesses TDK's website and the like (including advertisements), including information from cookies, search keywords, web beacons).
  • (7)"Password(s)" means a customer's log-in password for the Services, which the customer inputs in a prescribed entry form.
  • (8)"URL" means an IP address input into an internet browser when a customer uses the Services.
3.Use of Services
(1)Application of these Terms of Use
Please read these Terms of Use before using the Services, as well as any terms and conditions of use TDK set forth individually on each type of Content, link, or the like ("Use T&C"), which will also apply when a customer uses the Services. The Use T&C will take precedence and will apply over these Terms of Use, if a discrepancy exists between these Terms of Use and the Use T&C.
(2)Use by Minors
A customer in their minority must obtain their guardian's prior consent to use the Services.
4.URL and Password Management
A customer must manage their URL and password (applicable only when TDK provides a password to the customer; the same applies below) at the customer's own responsibility. Use of a customer's URL or password will be regarded as use of the Services by the customer, unless the use was due to a reason attributable to TDK. Furthermore, the customer is fully liable for the use of their URL and password.
5.Usage Fees
A customer may use the Services free of charge, unless otherwise set forth in these Terms of Use.
6.Handling of Personal Information
TDK will use the personal information acquired from customers when TDK provides the Services for the purposes of providing the Services, responding to customers’ queries, improving the Services, or for another purpose indicated in the Privacy Policy TDK separately set forth, which can be found at <https://www.tdk.com/en/policy/index.html> (or the updated URL, if TDK changes this URL).
7.Use of Accessible Content
A customer may use the Accessible Content only for the purpose of browsing the on the Services ("Purpose"). The customer may not disclose, transfer, or license the Accessible Content to a third party, or use the Accessible Content for a purpose other than the Purpose.
8.Message Function
  • (1)A customer can use the Message Function on the Services by a method set forth by TDK.
  • (2)A voice message may be deleted and not stored by TDK after it has been sent and received via the Message Function. TDK, however, may store, or disclose to a third party, a customer's voice message, if TDK determines it is necessary.
  • (3)A text message will appear on a device via the Message Function, and after the customer leaves the Service, it will automatically disappear from the device.TDK is not liable to retain a customer's text message, but it may save it, or disclose it to a third party, if TDK determines it is necessary.
  • (4)TDK may immediately delete a customer's message, if it determines the customer's use of the Message Function falls under a prohibited act set forth in Article 13.1.
  • (5)A customer understands their sent message could be received by all other customers using the Services, when the customer uses the Message Function. Furthermore, the customer shall use the Message Function in compliance with laws and regulations, as well as these Terms of Use.
9.Posting and Transmitting Advertisements
A customer acknowledges in advance TDK might post on the Services or on its links, or might directly transmit to customers, advertisements regarding products or services of TDK or a third party.
10.Exemptions
  • (1)TDK does not make any guarantee the Services, the applications provided on the Services, and the Accessible Content are trustworthy, accurate, appropriate, legal, safe, or complete, or they do not infringe a third party's rights or are appropriate for a customer's purpose of use. Furthermore, TDK does not make any guarantee the Services will not be disrupted, are free of malfunctions, can be used any time, or that the Services will not end, or the Services, the applications provided on the Services or the Accessible Content do not contain defects related to security, errors, or bugs.
  • (2)TDK does not guarantee it is not susceptible to a computer virus or an external attack related to a customer's use of the Services.
  • (3)TDK does not guarantee in any way the information sent and received via the Services will not be leaked, lost, or altered.
  • (4)TDK requests its customers to use the Services after securing a safe environment at the customer's own responsibility, if a customer uses a device (such as, a VR device) when using the Services. TDK is not liable in any way if a customer suffers damages (including, but not limited to, injury and illness) caused by or related to the customer using a device (such as, aVR device).
11.TDK's Liability related to Compensation for Damages
TDK is liable to compensate only direct and ordinary damages that actually arose related to providing the Services (excluding special damages, profit loss, damage or loss of data, or loss of opportunity for data use, regardless whether or not they are foreseeable), even when TDK is liable to compensate a customer for their damages.
12.Customers’ Responsibilities
  • (1)A customer is responsible for the burden of preparing the terminal or equipment needed to use the Services, as well as for telecommunication costs for the terminal and equipment needed to use the Services.
  • (2)A customer shall resolve at its own cost and responsibility any dispute between the customer and a third party arising in relation to using the Services. TDK will not be liable in any way therefor.
13.Prohibited Acts
A customer may not commit an act falling under any of the following, or an act that could fall thereunder, related to the Services,.
  • (1)An act of violating laws and regulations or public order, or another act of violating the rules generally respected on the internet;
  • (2)An act of inflicting on TDK or a third party a disadvantage, inconvenience or discomfort, or damages;
  • (3)An act of providing the Services to a third party without TDK's consent, either paid or free of charge;
  • (4)An act of slandering or insulting TDK or a third party or an act of discriminating against TDK or a third party, or damaging TDK or a third party's reputation, credibility, or moral interests (such as, privacy); an act of infringing human rights; or an act of encouraging, soliciting, cooperating, facilitating, or inducing these acts;
  • (5)An act of infringing TDK or a third party's Intellectual Property Rights;
  • (6)An act falling under murder, terrorist activity, abuse, injury, assault, intimidation, theft, robbery, sexual misconduct, or other criminal act; or an act falling under suicide, self-injury, unbecoming conduct, leaving home, or the like; or an act of encouraging, soliciting, cooperating, facilitating, or inducing these acts;
  • (7)An act of pretending to be something one is not regardless whether a corporation or individual; an act of providing information leading to falsehoods or misunderstandings; an act of causing a specific company's goods or services to be mistaken to be superior; or an act of defaming or criticizing a specific company's goods or services for the purpose of lowering their credibility;
  • (8)An act of violating the Japanese Election to Public Office Act (Act No. 100 of 1950);
  • (9)An act falling under anti-social forces (meaning an organized crime group; a company affiliated with an organized crime group; an extortionist; a corporate racketeer advocating a social cause or other group or individual that seeks an economic benefit utilizing violence, intimidation, or fraudulent means; or a person equivalent to the foregoing; the same applies below); a criminal organization, illegal gambling, involvement with illegal pharmaceuticals (including involvement with illegal drugs, an act of abuse or inappropriate use of pharmaceuticals and the like, or other goods equivalent thereto); a pyramid scheme (namely, multi-level marketing); networking business/multi-level selling; illegal business; fraud; counterfeiting official documents; manufacturing or conducting a transaction for illegal weapons, explosives, hazardous materials, or the like (including igniters, pistols, and ammunition); or other act falling under creating or conducting a transaction for illegal goods, information, or the like; or an act of encouraging, soliciting, cooperating, facilitating, or inducing these acts;
  • (10)An act falling under an act with the purpose of establishing or creating a heterosexual or homosexual relationship, or for heterosexual or homosexual intercourse; an act falling under seeking, sending, or receiving personal information for an inappropriate purpose; an act falling under an act related to sex-related business, prostitution, indecency, adult pornographic content, child pornography, child abuse, animal abuse, or content related to cruelty; or an act of encouraging, soliciting, cooperating, facilitating, or inducing these acts;
  • (11)An act of accessing without authorization a computer, website, or electronic telecommunication equipment managed by TDK or a third party; an act of computer cracking; an act of hacking; an act of jamming communication; an act of intercepting communication; an act of using the Services by a method or in a manner causing damage to a computer, website, or electronic telecommunication equipment managed by TDK or a third party; or an act of posting information promoting the foregoing acts;
  • (12)An act of using without authorization or abusing an ID or password, or an act of using the Services as another person;
  • (13)An act of collecting, reproducing, altering, or erasing a third party's information accessible by the Services, exceeding the Services’ intended manner of use;
  • (14)An act of impeding a third party's business (including using a computer virus or file-sharing software), or providing a computer program that causes damages;
  • (15)An act committed with the purpose of manipulating the order of a search engine or search tool’s displayed results (meaning, but not limited to, an act of generating multiple accounts and posting multiple times the same or similar article, regardless whether a software tool or the like is used; or an act of inducing visits to other websites or accounts by, for example, posting the Content containing links thereto, as a result of using a generated account);
  • (16)An act of sending or posting a message or content by electronic mail that causes the recipient to feel repulsion (including, but not limited to, specified electronic mail and spam mail);
  • (17)An act of surveying, collecting, using, disclosing, or providing without authorization personal information or privacy information, without the individual's explicit consent;
  • (18)An act of causing an excessive burden or impedes the operation of the Services;
  • (19)An act of analyzing, disassembling, decompiling, or reverse engineering the programs or applications provided on the Services, or an act of decoding the source code embedded in the Services by another method;
  • (20)An act of using the Services for a purpose different from the Services’ purpose of use; an act of using (including an act of reproducing, sending, reprinting, and altering) the Accessible Content exceeding the Services’ intended manner of use; or
  • (21)Another act TDK reasonably determines to be inappropriate.
TDK may force the relevant customer's account to be cancelled without notifying the customer, if TDK decides the customer's conduct using the Services falls under, or could fall under, a prohibited act set forth in the preceding paragraph, is inappropriate in light of social norms (such as, public order), or otherwise, impedes the smooth provision of the Services.
14.Prohibition to Transfer Rights and Obligations
A customer may not transfer to a third party, have a third party succeed, convert to cash, or provide for a loan or collateral the customer's rights and obligations pursuant to the Services and these Terms of Use.
15.Disruption or Suspension of Services
  • (1)TDK might disrupt or suspend providing all or some of the Services, when TDK decides any of the following situations applies.
    • ①When continuing to provide the Services will be difficult due to an earthquake, fire, lightning strike, storm and flood damage, tsunami, snow damage, other natural disaster, power failure, reduction in power supply, an unavoidable accident, laws and regulations, administrative guidance, court order, war, terrorist activity, civil war, riot, epidemic, or other reason beyond TDK's control, or other force majeure;
    • ②When undertaking maintenance or construction is required for the equipment, machines, systems, or programs needed for the Services or to provide the Services;
    • ③When damage or an impediment arises in the equipment, machines, systems, or programs needed for the Services or to provide the Services; or
    • ④Otherwise, when TDK decides disrupting the provision of all or some of the Services is necessary.
  • (2)TDK shall notify its customers in advance to the extent possible, when it will disrupt or suspend providing all or some of the Services pursuant to the preceding paragraph, but this provision will not apply in case of an emergency. TDK is not liable in any way to its customers or any other person when it disrupts or suspends providing the Services, unless otherwise set forth in laws and regulations or in these Terms of Use.
16.Discontinuation of Services
(1)TDK's discontinuation of the Services
TDK may discontinue providing the Services without notifying its customers, if any of the following situations applies or if TDK reasonably decides there is a possibility therefor.
  • ①If the customer violates any of these Terms of Use;
  • ②If the customer's URL or password becomes void;
  • ③If TDK discovers the customer is or was a member of anti-social forces, or is or was an affiliate thereof;
  • ④If the customer's use impedes TDK or a Partner's services or business operations, when the customer's use will hinder TDK or a Partner's operation of its services;
  • ⑤If TDK discovers the customer died or their company no longer exists;
  • ⑥If the customer does not log-in with their URL or password for a continuous six months;
  • ⑦If the customer discontinues using the Services;
  • ⑧If TDK discovers the customer's registered details for the Services are incomplete or insufficient, or they contain falsehoods;
  • ⑨If the customer previously violated any of these Terms of Use;
  • ⑩If TDK discovers the customer did not obtain their guardian's consent, when the customer is a minor; or
  • ⑪Otherwise, when TDK reasonably decides the customer using the Services is inappropriate.
(2)Customer's termination of their agreement
A customer must request TDK and obtain TDK's prior written consent, when the customer intends to terminate their Agreement.
(3)TDK's ending of the Services
TDK shall make known to its customers in advance to the extent possible, when it will end providing the Services. TDK is not liable in any way to its customers or any other person when it ends providing the Services, unless otherwise set forth in laws and regulations or in these Terms of Use.
17.Actions after Services or Agreements End
(1)Handling of information
TDK may delete the Users’ Information regarding a customer on the Services after it ends providing the Services or the customer’s Agreement ends (whatsoever the reason for the ending). TDK, however, may continue to retain and use the Users’ Information, when TDK decides it is required.
(2)Systems update
A customer accepts in advance that TDK updating its systems to reflect use of the Services is suspended or ended or an Agreement is terminated (whatsoever the reason for the ending or termination) might require a prescribed period due to the systems' configurations related to the Services, after the procedures therefor are completed.
18.Revisions to Terms of Use
(1)Revisions to these Terms of Use
TDK may revise these Terms of Use without a customer's individual agreement, if revising these Terms of Use satisfies either of the following conditions. In this event, TDK shall make the revisions known in advance by posting the revisions on the Services or on TDK's website, or by another equivalent method.
  • ①When the revision is appropriate for the customers’ general interests; or
  • ②When the revision is not contrary to a purpose for executing an agreement, and the revision is justifiable in light of the revision’s necessity, the appropriateness of the details after the revision, and other circumstances related to the revision.
(2)Changes related to the Services
TDK may arbitrarily change at any time the name, details, and specifications of the Services, without obtaining its customers' consent. A change, however, will be in accordance with the stipulations in the preceding paragraph, if the change requires a revision to these Terms of Use.
(3)Changes to programs or applications
TDK may upgrade the version, change a function, or limit the use of a program or application provided on the Services ("Upgrade" or its variants) at TDK's discretion. The support for a program or application before it is Upgraded might end at TDK's discretion, when an Upgrade is made for a relevant program or application. The Upgrade, however, will be in accordance with the stipulations in Paragraph 1, if the Upgrade requires a revision to these Terms of Use.
19.Transfer of Business
TDK may transfer all or some of its rights and obligations pursuant to these Terms of Use, by having a third party succeed them, selling them to a third party, a business transfer, merger, company split, or other method. In this event, TDK may provide the assignee all the information (including its customers' personal information and the Users' Information) TDK acquired during the process of the customers using the Services.
20.General Provisions
(1)How to make queries
A customer shall use the "Submit a Query" button on the Services, if the customer wishes to make a query to TDK.
(2)Notices from TDK
TDK shall provide notices (including the information to be made known pursuant to these Terms of Use) on the Services or on TDK's website.
(3)Governing Law and Court of Jurisdiction
  • ①The laws of Japan will apply when interpreting these Terms of Use and when a customer uses the Services. A customer acknowledges selling goods on the Services, when it arises, is exempt from applying the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
  • ②The Tokyo District Court will have exclusive jurisdiction over a dispute arising between TDK and a customer regarding these Terms of Use or the Services in the first instance.
(4)Limited Application
These Terms of Use will not apply for only the conflicting provision, if a provision in these Terms of Use conflicts with a related law or regulation. The other terms and conditions of these Terms of Use that do not conflict with the related law or regulation will still apply and have effect, even when the application of these Terms of Use is limited.

Do I need a VR device such as Meta Quest?

No, you do not need a VR device. You can join from your PC. You can use the web browser you usually use such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox.

Do I need earphones or headphones?
A
No, you do not need earphones or headphones, but we recommend that you use earphones or headphones for better audio quality.
Q
Is it possible to experience the program on a smartphone instead of a PC?
A
Unfortunately, it is not recommended. The experience on smartphones may slow down the operating speed. Therefore, please use a PC or VR device.

About the operation

Q
Could I use an character that is different form the one provided by TDK?
A
No, other characters may not work as well. We recommend that you use an character provided by TDK to better enjoy the atmosphere.
Q
How do I display preferences and menus in the world using VR device?
A
Please exit immersive mode (360-degree mode). You can exit the immersive mode by pressing the home button, but the way you exit the mode may differ depending on your device. With Meta Quest, you can exit immersive mode by pressing the oval button and then clicking "close".
Q
What can I do if there is a suspicious individual or someone who is acting in a way that is in violation of public order or morality?

You can report such individuals and activities by clicking on the report button from the menu on the bottom right of the screen.

* If you are using a VR device, the menu will appear when you exit immersive mode.

Chat posts will not be stored. However, this is a public space, so please refer to Terms of Service and be careful when you post chats.

Troubleshooting

I can't enter because I can't connect to the TDK Techno Experience or I can enter but the system drops immediately.

Please check to see if you are using the recommended environment.
If you are, please check the following:
  • Use another network.
  • Tether to a network. *This will, however, use a lot of data capacity.
  • Turn VPN off.
  • Temporarily turn the security software off.
  • Access from a different PC.
  • If you are trying to access from your company, please speak to your IT department.

It takes a while to enter the world.

Please try the following:
  • If you have another web meeting tool open (Zoom, Teams, etc.), please shut those apps down.
  • Close windows and browsers of apps you are not using.
  • Reload (refresh) the browser.
  • Enter using a different browser.

Although I turned the microphone off before I entered, after it turned back on when I entered the world.

Before you enter, please go to the microphone setup screen and make sure that the microphone has been turned off and is set on mute. The microphone may turned back on when entering while the ""Demanding access to the microphone"" is loading.

A) Change the audio settings in the world
